A session on "Good Touch and Bad Touch"

A session on “Good Touch and Bad Touch” was conducted by school counsellors, Ms. Meenakshi Barthakur and Ms. Harshita Das, for students from UKG to Class 2. The session aimed to raise awareness about safe and unsafe touch, helping children understand how to distinguish between the two. Emotions that often follow unsafe touch—such as discomfort, sadness, fear, confusion, helplessness, and anger—were discussed through practical demonstrations. The students were also guided on how to respond in such situations, emphasizing the importance of reporting to a trusted person immediately and not keeping it to themselves.
Following the session, Nirbaak, a dynamic social and cultural organization based in Assam, presented a captivating mime performance. Active in promoting the art of mime since 2018, Nirbaak beautifully depicted the concepts of good and bad touch and how to respond to such situations.
The event was truly impactful, and the students thoroughly enjoyed it.
