Art Integrated Learning

The Department of History conducted an Art Integrated Learning (AIL) session on “Rhythms of Devotion” in alignment with NEP 2020 and the Grade 12 NCERT chapter Bhakti and Sufi Traditions. The programme began with a graceful Sattriya dance performance by Shayantana Saikia, reflecting the devotional essence of the art form. This was followed by an insightful presentation by Aadidev Basumatary on the Satras of Assam, emphasizing their cultural significance and the deep influence of Bhakti philosophy on Sattriya. An engaging audio-visual round on Sufi songs further enhanced student participation, enabling them to explore the unique features and expressions of devotion in music.
Attended by Grade 12 Humanities students, the Vice Principal, Ms. Binita Jain, and Ms. Pooja Bhattacharjee, the half-hour session enriched learning by seamlessly weaving history with performing arts, transforming devotion into an experiential journey.
