Young Diplomats at MMUN 2024

Royal Global School proudly announces that ten Grade XI students participated in the 5th Meghalaya Model United Nations (MMUN), held at the NEHU campus in Shillong from August 23rd to 25th, 2024. This prestigious event, one of the largest in the North East, saw 950 delegates from over 100 schools and colleges come together. The convention’s motto, “SEPRARE, INSPIRARE, SUDARE,” urged participants to dare to dream, achieve, and work hard for success.
The event began on Day 1 with an inauguration ceremony graced by the esteemed Chief Guest, Justice Hanarsal Singh Thangkhiee, and the Guest of Honour, Idashisha Nongrang, IPS, DGP, Meghalaya. Following the inauguration, briefings were held for the various committees, including IPC, UNEA, DISEC, UNODC, JPC, AIPPM, UNHRC, NSC, INCSW, and UNGA.
Day 2 featured intense discussions on the respective agendas, spanning three engaging sessions.
On Day 3, the committees reached their conclusions amidst lively debates, passionate desk-banging, and empathetic exchanges. The event concluded with a closing ceremony in the presence of Guest of Honour, Dr Andrew Simons, Commissioner & Secretary, MLA. The vote of thanks, delivered by Meshwa Kupar, President of MMUN, inspired students to live up to the convention’s motto: “INSPIRE, ASPIRE, PERSPIRE.”
The event was a profound learning experience, instilling in participants a desire to bring about positive change in society.
