Educational Trip to Daffodil Nursery

As part of experiential learning programme, on 7th of November,2025 the students of Grade VI embarked on an exciting educational trip to Daffodil Nursery and College of Horticulture, Sonapur. The visit aimed to deepen their understanding of plant science, horticultural techniques, and the importance of environmental conservation.
Upon arrival, the students were greeted warmly by the owner of the Nursery Dr. Dhrubajyoti Sarma and Mrs. Rekha Sarma. Surrounded by lush greenery and vibrant flora, the young learners began their exploration with a guided tour by the Nursery staff, introducing them to ornamental, medicinal, and flowering plants. They observed various stages of plant growth and learned about techniques such as grafting, pruning, and soil preparation.
One of the highlights was witnessing the intricately structured bonsai trees and artistically shaped plants that showcased the creativity and patience involved in horticulture. The instructors explained propagation methods and sustainable practices, helping students connect theoretical knowledge from their science lessons to real-world applications.
The visit to Daffodil Nursery was not just an academic outing but also a reminder of the beauty and importance of nature in our daily lives. It left the students inspired, curious, and more aware of their role in protecting the environment.
