An international Round Square event

An international Round Square event brought together our students Aadidev Basumatary, Bien Darang, and Ashangi Das (Grade 11), along with Teacher-in-Charge Santanu Kumar Saikia. Themed “Youth in the Age of New Technology: Combating Concerns and Embracing Connections,” the event explored technology’s impact on personal lives, families, and communities.
Hosted by Newcastle Grammar School, the session began with an engaging icebreaker quiz and featured insights into the societal effects of technology, AI, and social networking. Key topics included social inequality, job changes, safety, and community engagement. Participants engaged in open discussions, sharing personal experiences and emotions about living in a tech-driven world.
Breakout rooms fostered deeper dialogue on navigating the complexities of the digital age and emphasized building a safer, more connected future. This international exchange not only facilitated meaningful connections but also underscored the role of education in addressing challenges like cyberbullying and online safety, while promoting empathy and global collaboration.
