Grade II Visits Sualkuchi

On October 28, 2024, a field trip was organized for the Grade II students to Sualkuchi, renowned as the Manchester of Assam. The primary objective of the trip was to educate and inspire students by introducing them to the various textiles used in creating Assam’s traditional attire, the Mekhela Chador.
The students visited two key venues. Their first stop was the Sualkuchi Institute of Fashion Technology, where they observed the intricate processes involved in producing muga, pat, and eri fabrics. Following this, the students explored Bastra Udyan, where they enjoyed the park and participated in a guided museum tour.
This educational excursion was designed to align with the Environmental Studies (EVS) topic, “Types of Clothes.” The outing proved to be both enjoyable and informative, as the enthusiastic students gained valuable insights into the techniques involved in fabric production.
