Royal Global School hosted an enriching Career Fest, bringing together representatives from 25 leading universities and institutions to guide students of Classes XI and XII in making informed choices about higher education and future careers.
Through interactive counselling sessions and engaging masterclasses, students gained insights into diverse and emerging fields, including Law, Commerce, Business & Entrepreneurship, Space Visualisation & Design, Machine Learning and the Internet of Things.
The sessions also enlightened students about interdisciplinary courses, evolving career pathways, higher-education opportunities and the skills required for the future.
The initiative provided students with valuable academic exposure and clarity, empowering them to explore their interests, understand new possibilities and make confident, well-informed career choices.

Our debaters delivered an impressive performance at the JEDI and Chuckerbutty Debates 2026, hosted by The Doon School, Dehradun, from 27th–30th August, competing against some of the most reputed schools in the country.
JUNIOR TEAM — JEDI

Out of all the teams that competed in this tournament, our junior team broke 5th in the preliminary rounds and advanced to the Quarter-finals, defeating The Doon School, Doon International School and other reputed schools along the way. They narrowly missed the Semi-finals against Welham Boys, losing by just 1 point. Jiya Jain was awarded Best Speaker in the Quarter-finals.

Our senior team also broke 5th on the tabs, securing victories over Shiv Nadar School, Gurgaon and Welham Boys, Dehradun. Their losses against The Doon School, Vasant Valley and John Connon–Cathedral School, Mumbai were all closely fought, with margins of just 1–2 points.
Among 42 speakers at the tournament, Shanvi Agarwal ranked 6th Best Speaker overall, a remarkable achievement reflecting her confidence, preparation and debating ability.
With both our Junior and Senior teams reaching the Quarter-finals, Royal Global School has once again made its presence felt on the national debating circuit.

Royal Global School, Guwahati, delivered an outstanding performance at the CBSE Far East Zone Team Chess Championship 2026–27 held at K.T. Global School, Bhubaneswar with both its girls’ teams securing podium finishes.
The U‑14 Girls’ Team won the Silver Medal, remaining unbeaten with 2 wins and 2 draws, securing 6 match points and 12 board points. Team members Ritisha Mayra Rajbongshi, Jisha Jain, Asmi Borah, Snigdha Das, and Samaya Pansari displayed remarkable skill and determination.
The U‑11 Girls’ Team clinched the Bronze Medal, with Aarya Jain, Aaira Jain, Ahaana Agarwal, and Prapya Indu Gayan putting up a commendable performance.
Adding further glory, Samaya Pansari, Ahaana Agarwal, and Prapya Indu Gayan won Gold Medals on their respective boards.
Royal Global School was the only team from Northeast India to qualify, making the achievement even more significant. This success reflects the school’s continued excellence, discipline, and commitment to chess.

Grade 4 had a wonderful time at Srimanta Sankardev Kalakshetra on 29th August 2026, discovering the rich cultural heritage of Assam. From the Dr. Bhupen Hazarika Museum and terracotta art to traditional weapons, historical figures, and diverse dance forms, every display sparked curiosity and wonder.
With their little diaries in hand, the children happily recorded their observations and discoveries, making the visit a memorable blend of learning, exploration, and fun!
Hearts Full of Love: Grade 5 Visits Mother’s Old Age Home
On August 29, 2026, our Grade 5 students from Royal Global School spent a deeply moving day at the Mother’s Old Age Home in Sijubari, Hatigaon, bringing immense joy to the resident grandmothers and grandfathers who eagerly awaited them. The afternoon quickly turned into a beautiful celebration as the children performed a soulful flute recital, lively dances, and a heartfelt rendition of the State Anthem, filling the room with smiles and loud applause. Beyond the entertainment, the visit became a profound lesson in empathy; seeing the elderly residents prompted innocent, touching questions from the students about family, leaving everyone with a deeper understanding of love, compassion, and the incredible power of a simple smile.
Guiding Futures: An Insightful Career Counselling Session
Royal Global School hosted an enriching career counselling session led by Dr. Dopathi Suhaas Chandra, an experienced professional in the field of career guidance and counselling. The session commenced with his felicitation by the Director, Dr. Arup Kumar Mukhopadhyay, and Vice Principal, Ms. Anita Varma, followed by an address by the Director, who shared his insights with the gathering.
Dr. Suhas Chandra guided students towards understanding their career interests, aptitudes, strengths, and future academic pathways through psychometric assessments. He introduced them to diverse career options, relevant undergraduate courses, entrance examinations such as CUET, IPMAT, SAT, NPAT, and SET, and various merit-based and need-based scholarship opportunities in India and abroad.
The session also highlighted the importance of developing leadership, negotiation, financial awareness, and interdisciplinary skills. It was an informative and insightful experience that enabled students to explore diverse possibilities and make more informed decisions about their academic and professional futures.
On 27th August 2026, the students of Grade 3 went on an educational trip to the Botanical Garden at Machkhowa, Guwahati. The trip was an enjoyable and enriching learning experience for the young learners.
The students explored the garden and observed a variety of plants, trees, flowers, and other natural surroundings. They learned about the importance of plants, their role in maintaining the environment, and the need to protect nature. The visit helped them connect their classroom learning with real-life experiences.
The students participated enthusiastically, asked questions, and enjoyed spending time in the natural environment. The trip was both educational and memorable, leaving the children with a greater appreciation for plants and nature.
Overall, the educational trip was a wonderful experience for the Grade 3 students and provided them with valuable knowledge beyond the classroom.
Learning from the Sacrifices of Assam
With curiosity and respect, the students of Grades 1&2 visited Swahid Smarak Kshetra, Boragaon, on 27th August 2026. The visit offered them a meaningful glimpse into the history of the Assam Agitation Movement and the sacrifices of its martyrs.
The students explored the memorial, witnessed the busts of the martyrs, paid homage at Swahid Pranam Jyoti- the eternal lamp, and visited the library-cum-archive. The experience helped them connect with Assam’s history while fostering respect, gratitude, and patriotism in their young hearts.

An interactive session titled “Confluence 4 – Psychology, Its Scope & Prospects” was conducted by the department of Psychology on 26th August, 2026 to create awareness about the importance and scope of psychology.
The session was led by Dr. Jayashree Das, renowned Clinical Psychologist, and Dr. Olivia Kakati, Assistant Professor, Royal Global University. Miss Olivia Kakati conducted an engaging activity where students expressed their feelings on paper in four different corners, encouraging self-reflection.
Dr. Jayashree Das enlightened the students with her real-life experiences from clinical practice, making the session practical and insightful.
Students actively participated, gaining valuable insights into self-understanding, mental well-being, and career prospects in psychology. The program was informative and impactful.
Royal Global School celebrated the birth anniversary of Mother Teresa on 26 August 2026 with reverence and heartfelt tribute. The programme was organised to commemorate the life and legacy of the great humanitarian, whose compassion, selflessness and service to humanity continue to inspire generations.
The celebration began with a floral tribute to Mother Teresa, followed by the lighting of candles by the Director, Vice Principal, teachers and students.
The students then presented a speech highlighting Mother Teresa’s life, values and contributions to humanity, followed by a melodious song dedicated to her inspiring legacy.
The programme concluded with an address by the Director who spoke about the significance of Mother Teresa’s life and encouraged the students to embrace values of empathy, kindness and selfless service in their daily lives.
Royal Global School proudly participated in MAH 2026, hosted by Maria’s Public School on 21st and 22nd August 2026, delivering a commendable performance and breaking into the Semi-Finals.
The team began their journey in the first round against SBOA, where they were on the Proposition and emerged victorious. In the second round against DPSK, the team took the Opposition and secured another win. The winning streak continued in the third round against Vandya, where they debated as the Opposition and emerged victorious once again.
In the Quarter-Finals, Royal Global School faced DPSG as the Opposition and secured another well-earned victory, earning their place in the Semi-Finals. In the Semi-Final round, the team once again faced Vandhya on the Opposition and, after a strong and spirited debate, concluded their journey with a loss.
With four consecutive wins leading up to the Semi-Finals, the team showcased remarkable confidence, teamwork, critical thinking and debating prowess. The journey at MAH 2026 stands as a testament to the dedication and commitment to the art of debating.
Royal Global School hosted an interactive session on 20th August 2026 for the parents of Stage 5A to deepen their understanding of the Cambridge approach to teaching and learning.
The program began with a hands‑on activity led by Ms. Suhita Chanda, where parents experienced how classroom concepts are explained and discussed. Their enthusiastic participation brought back fond memories of their own school days.
The session was further enriched by our Director, Mr. Arup Kr. Mukhopadhyay, who addressed parents’ queries with clarity and warmth. His insights highlighted how the Cambridge framework nurtures confidence, responsibility, innovation, and reflection in students, while ensuring academic excellence.

As we celebrate the spirit of knowledge this Independence season, our students participated in the Azadi Ka Amrit Mahotsav Quiz, hosted by Assam Royal Global University on 14th August 2026.
Two teams from our school, comprising Rishik Jhunjhunwala (X), Utkarsh Sharma (X), Anuska Anshu Nath (XI), and Adharshini Deb (XI), under the guidance of their teacher, Mrs Bala M. Rajkhowa, competed against 25 teams, including 2 school teams and 23 university teams.

Royal Global School participated in the Amrit Vimashe Debate at The Assam Royal Global University, competing against several prominent universities. RGS was represented by two teams: Sanchi Nahata and Diya Sarawgi (Team A), and Jiya Jain and Viraj Upadhyay (Team B). Both teams put up a commendable performance, showcasing strong research, articulation, rebuttals, and confidence while debating the motion on the Uniform Civil Code. Competing against experienced university debaters provided a valuable platform for the students to challenge themselves and represent RGS with distinction. *Guwahati University secured first position, Cotton University second, and Tezpur University third. The participation was a significant learning experience for the RGS debaters.
A Proud Celebration of India’s 80th Independence Day
Royal Global School celebrated the 80th Independence Day with immense pride, patriotism, and enthusiasm. The celebration was graced by our Honourable Chairman, Dr. A. K. Pansari, Vice Chairman Mr A K Modi , esteemed Chief Guest, Dr. Jayanta Das along with esteemed members of the founding family and school leadership, teachers, parents, and students.
The celebration commenced with the ceremonial hoisting of the National Flag, followed by the National Anthem and an impressive March Past by the school contingents and Brass Band.
The cultural programme featured a patriotic group song, a soulful keyboard performance, inspiring addresses, and the special presentation “Eastern Flames of Freedom,” honouring the courage and contributions of the brave sons and daughters of Eastern India who contributed to the nation’s freedom struggle.
The celebration was a heartfelt tribute to the courage, sacrifice, and spirit of freedom that continue to inspire generations.

On 12 August 2026, five enthusiastic Grade 5 students from Royal Global School participated in the Round Square Zoom Postcard hosted by Seth Anandram Jaipuria School, Lucknow.
Guided by Ms Nabanita Baruah, the young changemakers presented “Deepor Beel: Greed to Green,” highlighting the effects of urbanisation and pollution and proposing sustainable solutions for a greener tomorrow.
The interactive global exchange inspired students to think responsibly, act sustainably and become environmentally conscious global citizens.
The Inter-House Football Tournament for Grades IV–V witnessed enthusiastic participation, excellent teamwork and a wonderful display of young football talent. Our young athletes showcased great sportsmanship, determination and team spirit throughout the tournament.

Royal Global School proudly participated in the The Brothers Masterson and Bergin Debates 2026, hosted by St Georges College, Mussoorie, alongside 11 reputed schools from across the country.
Our Debate Team—Diya Sarawgi Grade XI, Shanvi Agarwal Grade XI and Dhruv Bagri Grade XII advanced to the Quarter-finals, defeating St. Judes Academy, RIMC Dehradun and St. Georges College Team-B in the preliminary rounds.
We take immense pride in the fact that out of the 12 schools that participated we finished 3rd in the preliminary rounds.Their journey concluded with a closely contested quarter-final against the St. Georges Team-B, who were then declared as the Runners Up of the tournament.
The individual achievements were:
- Shanvi Agarwal won the Best Speaker in the Quarter-Finals. She also won the Best Speaker in the 3rd Round and the Most Promising Speaker in 2nd Round of the Prelims.
- Dhruv Bagri won the Best Speaker in the 2nd Round and 4th Round, and the Most Promising Speaker in the 1st Round of the Prelims.
- Diya Sarawgi won the Most Promising Speaker in the 3rd Round of the Prelims.

Royal Global School has once again demonstrated its sporting excellence at the CBSE Cluster‑I Basketball Tournament 2026, hosted by Miles Bonson School from 8th to 10th August 2026.
Our U‑19 Boys’ Basketball Team delivered a commendable performance, securing the Silver Medal, while our U‑14 Girls’ Basketball Team showcased remarkable determination, teamwork, and fighting spirit to clinch the Bronze Medal.

We are delighted to share that Ravi Kant Tiwari, Chess Coach at Royal Global School, has been selected to officiate at the 24th ASEAN+ Age Group Chess Championship 2026, held in Singapore from 7 August 2026.
He is the only official from Northeast India to have been selected to officiate at this prestigious international event, which witnessed the participation of more than 700 players.

A Career Counselling Session was organised on 5th August,2026 at Royal Global School for the students of Classes XI and XII with the objective of helping them make informed decisions about their future careers in a rapidly changing world.
It was conducted by Mr Ajay Sharma, Director Student Outreach
The session highlighted the evolving nature of the global job market and emphasized that by 2030, around 170 million new jobs are expected to emerge worldwide, while many existing roles will undergo significant transformation due to technological advancements. Students were encouraged to view career planning as a continuous journey of learning, adaptability, and skill development.
The resource person stressed that success in the 21st century depends not only on academic performance but also on acquiring essential skills such as critical thinking, communication, collaboration, creativity, problem-solving, digital literacy, emotional intelligence, and adaptability. Students were motivated to develop these competencies to remain future-ready.
A key focus of the session was the increasing availability of multidisciplinary and cross-stream career opportunities. Students learned that career choices are no longer confined to traditional Science, Commerce, or Humanities pathways. They were introduced to emerging fields such as Artificial Intelligence, Data Science, Cybersecurity, Environmental Studies, Design, Digital Marketing, Sports Management, Psychology, Entrepreneurship, and many more.
The counsellor also explained that careers today rarely follow a straight path. Instead, they often take a zigzag journey, with individuals exploring different roles, learning new skills, and changing career directions as opportunities evolve. Students were reassured that flexibility and lifelong learning are the keys to long-term success.
An important takeaway from the session was that marksheets alone are no longer the sole determinant of career success. While academic achievement remains important, employers increasingly value practical skills, innovation, leadership qualities, teamwork, and a willingness to learn.
The interactive session concluded with a lively question-and-answer segment, where students sought guidance on higher education options, career planning, scholarships, and future employment trends. The programme proved to be highly informative and inspiring, equipping students with the confidence to make thoughtful career choices and prepare themselves for the opportunities of tomorrow.
The students got an opportunity to interact with seventeen universities across the world and are looking forward for future academic guidance.

Royal Global School proudly participated in the Mayoor Invitational Debate and Quiz 2026, hosted by Mayoor School, Ajmer, where 19 reputed schools from across the country came together in a celebration of intellect, eloquence, and critical thinking.
Our Debate Team, comprising Sanchi Nahata, Arjun Agarwal, and Jiya Jain, also had a remarkable campaign, advancing to the Semi-finals after registering convincing victories over Bharatiya Vidya Bhavan and Maharaja Vidyalaya in the preliminary rounds, followed by a quarter-final triumph against Vasant Valley School. Their inspiring journey concluded with a closely contested semi-final against the host institution, Mayoor School, Ajmer.
The tournament also witnessed exceptional individual accomplishments. Arjun Agarwal (Class IX C) was adjudged Best Speaker in both the Preliminary and Quarter-final rounds, while Sanchi Nahata received the Best Speaker Award in the Preliminary Round, reflecting the team’s exceptional oratory skills and intellectual excellence.
Our Quiz Team, comprising Dhruv Bagri and Krrishiv Garodia, delivered an outstanding performance by qualifying for the Grand Finale and securing an impressive Fourth Position among the 19 participating schools.

On behalf of the entire Royal Global School family and the Social Outreach Club- Utsarga , a relief team comprising of educators, admin and support staff embarked on a journey on the evening of 1 st August, 2026 to provide essential flood relief materials to the affected people in Sibsagar. The Flag Off for the Relief Team was done by Head of Lower Primary , Head of Wellness ,other academic , admin and support staff.
The team had carried essential survival kits for more than 250 families consisting of not only the basic dry ration ( rice, dal, oil,salt , sugar etc) but items based on their present condition like water purifying bleach, betadine micro solution ,phenyl,children’s basic medicines, mosquito net , coil , disposable plates, cups , electrol, candle, sanitary pads , biscuits , drinking bottles and the like , each family recieved a kit comprising of these items.
The team made their first distribution at Santak Government LP School which was giving shelter to 25 families of Nepali Kutti , the most badly affected area of Sibsagar.
They interacted with compassion with the people and listened patiently to the survival stories of the ill fated night of 19th July,2026.After Santak , the team proceeded to different localities in Nazira where they saw destruction in it’s worst form,houses were gutted in silt with people and animals taking shelter in petrol pumps , highway , government schools and on the roadside . The flood waters ravaged the houses of the poor and the rich alike , the waters left nothing untouched, what remains is mud and debris all around.
However , while moving across the muddy roads the team was surprised to see a tea stall by a family providing free tea to the people who have gone there for distribution. This kind gesture was from a family who lost everything ,their house,belongings and livelihood in the devastating July 19 th floods but who showed eagerness to thank those who have travelled from different parts of Assam to stand by them.Amidst such loss and despair , this family with their powerful act of Gratitude has proved that it is important to be a good human being but very important is to be Humane even during situation of adversity.
The water has resided but what destruction it has left behind cannot be expressed in words.
As relief continues to reach affected villages, the bond between those extending help and those receiving it stands out as a reminder that compassion can endure even in the most difficult times.
The RGS team wrapped up their distribution at around 3:00 pm on the evening of 2nd August , 2026 but what destruction they saw was more difficult to accept than what they had anticipated or seen in TV, it cannot be simply said as Flood Affected Sibsagar , it is Flood Devastated Sibsagar. The team reached safely on 3 rd August 2026 with prayers in their heart that such calamity should not occur ever again.
