National Inter-School Meet, Doon School

A team of eight students, accompanied by Ms. Pooja Bhattacharjee, represented our school at the prestigious national-level Inter-School competition held at The Doon School, Dehradun, from August 29th to September 1st, 2024. The four-day event was packed with activities that challenged the students’ intellectual abilities and provided opportunities to forge new friendships.
The first day was intense, featuring impromptu debate rounds and various quizzing sessions. Our quiz team, consisting of Kresha Jain and Piya Sahu, performed exceptionally well, securing a spot in the next qualifying round. It was a proud moment for all of us as we watched our team excel under pressure.
Our debate teams also put forth commendable efforts, winning several rounds. The experience was enriching, offering valuable lessons and insights. On August 30th, the Jedi debate team participated in their fourth round, while the Chucks team continued with their third-round matchups. The day was filled with excitement, tension, and spirited competition. In the evening, we enjoyed a special event—the Headmaster’s Dance and Dinner. It was a delightful experience, giving us the chance to interact with the headmaster and students of The Doon School. The evening was filled with laughter, dance, and engaging conversations, making it one of the highlights of the event.
August 31st marked the semi-finals for the Chucks debate, a highly competitive round that was both challenging and insightful. Although neither the Chucks team nor the Jedi team advanced to the semi-finals or finals, their performances were commendable. The Jedi team won two out of four matches, with Shanvi Agarwal being recognized as the Best Speaker in two rounds and the Most Promising Speaker in another two. The Chucks team also won one out of their four matchups, with Paraj Garg receiving the Best Speaker award, showcasing their determination and skill.
Watching the debates was truly inspiring, as the participants showcased exceptional oratory skills and sharp critical thinking. The competition was intense, and the level of discourse was remarkable. This experience provided valuable lessons for the students, motivating them to aim for even greater success in future events.
