Educational Excursion to Kashmir and Pahalgam

On June 30, 2024, a group of 63 students from Royal Global School, along with 4 escort teachers and 2 trip coordinators, embarked on an educational excursion to Kashmir and Pahalgam. The trip was organized to provide students with an opportunity to experience the natural beauty, culture, and history of these regions, as well as to foster a sense of camaraderie and adventure.
The journey began with a flight to Srinagar, the summer capital of Jammu and Kashmir. Upon arrival, the students checked into their hotel and, after some rest and lunch, they took a Shikara ride on Dal Lake where they experienced the local lifestyle and floating markets. The second day was dedicated to Sonmarg, where all the students did horse riding to reach the glacier point, offering a unique and serene experience.
The third day was spent exploring Srinagar. The group visited the Mughal Gardens, including Shalimar Bagh and Nishat Bagh, where they learned about the rich history and architectural marvels of the Mughal era. The students also explored the markets of Srinagar and learned about the history and art of making carpets and woolen clothes. On the fourth day, the students experienced a Gondola ride at Gulmarg.
On the fifth day, the group traveled to Pahalgam, a picturesque town known for its scenic beauty. En route, they stopped at a saffron farm, an apple orchard, and a bat factory. Upon reaching Pahalgam, students were captivated by the lush green meadows and the gushing Lidder River. They visited Aru Valley, where they enjoyed hiking and horse riding. These activities provided a thrilling experience and taught them teamwork and resilience. The students also visited the local markets to shop for souvenirs, such as Pashmina shawls and traditional handicrafts.
The trip concluded with a sense of fulfillment and new friendships forged. The excursion to Kashmir and Pahalgam was an enriching experience for the students, making it a memorable trip cherished by all who participated.
