On 24.04.2024, MV Kohua Bon, a unit of Sofia Navigation Cruises Pvt Ltd, organized a river cruise on “Unifying our Actions for Bird Awareness and Conservation”, aimed at fostering bird awareness and conservation among 40 students representing 4 schools from Guwahati. Renowned experts Dr. Biswajit De and Anwaruddin Choudhury shared their knowledge on the significance of bird watching in conservation efforts. Students gained valuable insights into the intricate world of Ornithology. A hands-on art activity was conducted, where students created Herbarium under expert guidance. This provided a creative avenue for students to engage with and deepen their understanding of conservation practices. Ten students of Grade 9 and 10 from Royal Global School actively participated in the event. Furthermore, four students were honored for their exceptional contributions in various categories, showcasing their dedication and talent. The event provided a platform for students to connect with nature and understand the importance of preserving avian biodiversity. Through interactive sessions and practical activities, students gained practical skills and knowledge, empowering them to become stewards of the environment. The program served as a catalyst for inspiring the young minds of conservationists. The event not only educated students about bird conservation but also instilled in them a sense of responsibility towards preserving our natural heritage.
