A team of 18 students( boarders) of the school accompanied by the Utsarga Club coordinator Mahua G. Kanungoe organised its first visit to the M. E. School at Nortap village in this academic year on 29th April to share a little happiness with their buddies. The students geared up to teach them a little Mathematics, English, Poem recitation and a Storytelling session accompanied with fun filled activities and games. Notebooks and other stationery items were distributed amongst the students. A trip that did not fail to imbibe in the children the values of sharing,caring, empathy and compassion.

"Life is just like potter's clay it gets shaped by our own hands." - Tanuja Shrivastava. Pottery class can improve children's motor skills by giving them the chance to engage their arm and hand muscles. As they learn how to manipulate the clay, they will discover that their hands can be powerful tools. Children of pre-primary explored the texture and skill of moulding clay through pottery on Day 1 of this activity.
When it comes to decision regarding careers, guidance from experienced mentors is a must. The students of Royal Global School experienced a power-packed, super-engaging, and highly insightful Workshop session on Career Planning & Development conducted by Nishant Sarawgi from Enrichmycareer on 27th April 2022. Through his presentation he focused the importance of pursuing a career which they are passionate about. His workshop which was activity based kept the students glued to their seats happily for nearly two hours. The session ended with some prize distribution and vote of thanks by the students.
The students of RGS were educated on a very important topic, that is Income Tax and it's importance. Resource persons Smt.Priyanka Sharma IRS, and Sri.Subhajit Bhuyan IRS, with their team took a session on "To communicate the importance of paying taxes and ease of tax conpliance" to the prospective taxpayers. This program was initiated by the Income tax department, under the Azadi ka Amrit Mahotsav program to commemorate 75 years of Independence. It was a very important and informative session.
In the words of John Burroughs," I go to books and to nature as the bee goes to a flower, for a nectar that I can make into my own honey." Hence keeping this in view ,this educational tour to Botanical Garden of Gauhati University was organised for the students of Grade 3 today.
"The greatness of a nation and its moral progress can be judged by the way it's animals are treated"- Mahatma Gandhi Our Country claims to be the home of Ahimsa and place of compassion to all living creatures , the reality ,however, is very different. Heartbreaking stories of cruelty towards animals appear almost everyday in the media. To bring a change in our relationship with animals ,away from violence, towards compassion and peaceful co-existence, a session by leading NGO's of Guwahati was conducted at Royal Global School. The Founder of Purpaws Foundation, Nandini Barua , the Founder of Anajoree,Milin Dutta and the Founder of another NGO Street Animal Welfare ,Rashmi Choudhary spoke on various issues related to need for adoption of shelter dogs, sterilization of street dogs, to be a ' voice' for the ' voiceless',eradicate illegal trading of animals and promote compassion in our society. It was a very fruitful session of one and half hour with the senior secondary students of Grade IX- XII.
Sustainability Through Eco Bricks On 21st April 2022, twenty-three students from 4th to 12th grade took part in making eco-bricks to observe Earth Day in the school under the initiative of the IAYP and Interact Club members under the guidance of the Moderator, Suman Bhuyan. There is no question that Earth has been a giving planet. Everything humans have needed to survive, and thrive, was provided by the natural world around us. But the lack of responsibility and awareness makes us unable to take care of our planet the way we should have. Eco bricks are zero cost, reusable, lightweight, easy to work with, and most importantly, repurpose the plastic that’s rapidly threatening to take over our ecosystems. Students collected plastic wastes and made eco-bricks which in the long run will be part of a broader project. They also took a pledge to teach the craft to other students so that they can learn to manage the waste and save the planet.
On 18.04.2022 IVth graders of Royal Global School had a session on Hydroponics. It's about Urban farming and teaching children how to grow their own leafy vegetables within the limited space that urban apartments have. The session was taken up by the Fuel Farmers -Easy farming. The session started with a question and answer session wherein they were asked questions like 'What is the future ?' 'What is farming?' The enthusiastic children were answering and had to be told to hold their horses ! The main motive of the session was to drive home the point about the hazards of using chemical manures and its ill effects on health. So how to grow your own vegetables where there is paucity of space? The skills acquired were how to grow your own leafy vegetables through hydroponics without soil and sunlight and through artificial lights and zero chemicals. It was experiential learning as the concept of growing plants was introduced through the enriching and enlightening session !

To encourage children to enjoy reading and develop it into a lifelong habit, our school has a consistent activity for children across all classes called 'The Read Programme'. To make reading fun for children, a workshop was held on 12th of April for the middle school by resource persons, Miss Amita Khare and Vidya Padmanabhan from Mumbai. They incorporated more knowledge about reading through group activities, songs and took them to an imaginary world of nature. The students were enriched by learning about the basic structure of a story, the technical terms and it's nuances. The students were greatly motivated to read more through this workshop.
On 12th April, 2022 a special assembly was organized for the students of Pre Primary and Primary Sections to celebrate one of the major festivals of Assam that is Rongali Bihu, which is also known as Bohag Bihu that ushers the beginning of the Assamese New Year. The assembly started with the prayer “Nisinu tumak kot asa probhu…”, followed by a speech on the importance of celebrating this festival and a poem recitation. The main attractions of the assembly were the ‘Husori’ performance followed by two enthralling Bihu dances which set the tone for the festive season. A very important ritual of this festival called ‘Bihur Hewa Jonuwa’ was shown to the students where all the respected dignitaries – Chairman Dr Ashok Pansari , Member of Management Ms. Harsha Pansari , Principal Ms. Anubha Goyal, Vice Principal Binita Jain, Headmistress Ms. Debdutta Bera Adhya were felicitated with a “Phulam Gamucha” and the students seeked blessings from them by touching their feet. Principal ma’am addressed the assembly and wished everyone a very happy and prosperous Rongali Bihu. The tiny tots of the pre primary section dressed in traditional attire amazed everyone with their vibrant and scintillating Bihu dance moves. The assembly ended with the state anthem.
On 11.04.2022 the students of Grades IV and V had an engrossing story telling session in the school's Rock n Roll room.The session was conducted by Amrita Khare and Vidya Padmanabhan. The resource persons started the session with a song and the children were at once all ears. After setting in the mood, they explained the concept of folk tales and went on to narrate a folk tale in their unique style. The idea of conducting this session was to inculcate the habit of reading in the students and to arouse their curiosity. The skills they acquired were how to distinguish between plot, character and setting in a story. Overall it was a fruitful and an enriching experience which the students thoroughly enjoyed.

' Reading is to the mind what exercise is to the body'.
To motivate the children to read for fun and to encourage lifelong reading habits , a 'READ Programme' workshop was held across Primary school by resource persons Miss Amita Khare, and Vidya Padmanabhan from Mumbai. The duo regaled the students with various tales from their Read programme books. Animated and dramatized techniques involved in storytelling fosters imagination in the young minds and instills in them a love for reading.

Congratulation to Ranitya Raj Sarma on being selected for the covetous and prestigous scholarship of AFS Asia Kakehashi Program, 2022-23. A sponsored program of Government of Japan,the scholarship focuses on facilitating intercultural exchange and understanding between teenagers of Japan and other Asian countries. Ranitya will attend a Japanese high school in the next session. He will be helped to improve Japanese language skills, academic prospects and intercultural fluency while living with an adopted family in kakehashi, Japan. Ranitya has been selected based on his academic achievement and interest in Japanese language and culture as well as potential to be a future leader of positive change in his community. We wish him an enriching session ahead in Japan.
A fun activity where one has to stack the various colored cylinders in the order of their height, size and colour. This game is designed to develop hand-eye coordination and identification of each cylinder and place it belongs. All the children of nursery participated in identifying and placing the cylinders. They enjoyed and stayed engaged for a period of time
Logical reasoning requires an understanding of attributes, relationships, and sequence, and is not only important in formal learning but also in daily activities. It boosts their sense of identification and sorting skills as well. Children of Upper kindergarten participated in identifying and placing picture tiles in sequence. Some of them assisted their peers in arranging the same. As they solved, the joy of accomplishment was evident in them.
No mess smush painting naturally encourages exploration of the following developmentally appropriate skills and senses:
Touch – children feel the cool temperature of the paint and notices the smooth texture.
Sight – While painting, children observe the different colors and how they blend together.
The children of lower kindergarten involved in no-mess painting. They were excited to touch and mix the paint. They kept touching the ziplock pouches with their fingers and mixed the colours collaboratively.
Music and movement enables children to learn new words and concepts through activities such as chanting rhymes, creating sounds by clapping, snapping and other objects and singing songs to make the learn fun. Children of LKG happily participated in body percussion and enjoyed till the end. It was a delight to see them following the music, beats and at the same time having so much fun.

A never before episode in the field of education was unfolded when Royal Global School, South Point School and Maria's Public School in association with ScooNews organised a congregation of educators and stalwarts of education in the Experiential Learning Conclave, 'ExelCon 22' from 31st March to 3rd April at the Royal Global School premises. A lineup of speakers from mainland India and the Northeast had consented to share their ideas and suggestions in the meet. Honourable Chairman of Royal Global School Dr. A.K. Pansari gave a thumping start to the ExelCon 2022 with his articulate and motivational speech.
The National Policy (NEP), 2020 had outlined the vision of India’s new education system and provided a comprehensive framework that would enable the country’s current education system align itself with internationally accepted education norms. An important objective of the NEP was to foster “experiential learning and critical thinking” among students. Experiential learning or “learning through reflection on doing” is an individualized learning process related to the learner and the learning context. It takes the learner beyond the classroom and focuses on his or her self-initiative or intention to learn. The Experiential Learning Conclave 2022 organized by Scoo news in association with Royal Global School, Maria’s Public School and South Point School began on 31st March in Guwahati, Assam. On 1st and 2nd April 2, 2022, more than five hundred participants took part in an experiential journey, gaining new insights on new curriculum concepts and their implementation. A host of distinguished speakers took to the stage and shared their experiences, their thoughts and their strategies for incorporating experiential learning and critical thinking in our pedagogical structure. On Day 1, Prof Manish Jain, Associate Teaching Professor and Coordinator, Centre for Creative Learning, IIT, Gandhinagar held masterclasses for both students and teachers. The highlight of Day 2 was the keynote address by Lobsang Phuntsok, Founder and Director, Jhantse Gatsal Chidren’s Community, Arunachal Pradesh. Mr. Phuntsok’s presentation on Educating the Heart, Mind and Body in the context of the 21st century was thought provoking. Interlacing his speech with humorous anecdotes from his own life, the speaker spoke to the hearts and minds of his audience. The Experiential Learning Conclave 2022 concluded with the Experiential Learning Awards, at Royal Global School. Royal Global School received an award for the best Hybrid Learning Initiative. For two days RGS had played host to educators and thinkers from across the country. Distinguished speakers like Mr. Sandeep Sethi, Ms. Lata Vaidyanathan, and Ms. Vasundha Wanchoo, Dr. Anju Chazot and Dr. Pascal Chazot and many more have presented ideas, discussed strategies and conducted workshops in order to make teaching-learning impactful. In addition, delegates were given the opportunity to learn about the local traditions of the North East in an exhibition of traditional Art, Handicrafts and Handlooms on the grounds of Royal Global School. The Conclave has thus been a platform for the coming together of minds, for the interchange of ideas and the formation of lifelong bonds.
