Teachers were guided on Writing Learning Objectives and Expected Learning Outcomes (ELOs) aligned with Competency-Based Education (CBE). The session also emphasized practical Competency-Based Teaching Techniques to improve student engagement and learning outcomes.
The workshop proved to be highly informative and interactive, enabling teachers to refine their assessment methods and adopt learner-centered approaches.

Day 2 of the Professional Development Program was marked by an insightful session with Dr. Arup Kumar Mukhopadhyay, who guided teachers through the Cambridge approach to assessment, contrasting it with traditional methods.
Educators engaged in interactive case studies that highlighted how Cambridge-aligned classrooms foster deeper learning, critical thinking, and student empowerment. The session emphasized moving beyond rote memorization to authentic assessment practices that reflect real-world skills.
To bring these ideas to life, teachers participated in role plays. The role play helped teachers practice clear communication and build confidence in articulating the value of modern assessment. Teachers role-played classroom situations where students struggled with conceptual understanding. Using Cambridge strategies, they demonstrated how formative assessment could guide learners toward mastery rather than penalizing mistakes.
The atmosphere was engaging, thought-provoking, and collaborative, leaving participants inspired to transform their teaching practices. The day concluded with a collective reflection, where teachers shared how they envisioned applying these strategies in their own classrooms.
Royal Global School, Guwahati, successfully concluded Day 1 of the Professional Development Program conducted by Dr. Arup Mukhopadhyay for teachers of EY1 to Grade 5. The session gave profound insights into the Cambridge philosophy of education, emphasizing its focus on fostering critical thinking and creativity. Key highlights included understanding Cambridge pedagogy in contrast to traditional teaching methods and learning strategies for developing effective lesson plans aligned with Cambridge principles.
A special assembly was conducted today to create awareness among students about Bharatiya Nav Varsh, which will be celebrated on 19 March 2026, marking the beginning of Vikram Samvat 2083.
The assembly was organized across three venues so that students from all sections of the school could participate. It began with the school prayer and school song, followed by the chanting of Sanskrit shlokas by the students. The gathering was addressed by Director, RGS, Dr. Arup Mukhopadhyay, Vice Principal Ms. Binita Jain, and Vice Principal Ms. Anita Varma, who spoke about the significance of Bharatiya Nav Varsh and the traditional Indian calendar system.
Students learned that while the world largely follows the Gregorian calendar, India also follows ancient calendar traditions such as the Vikram Samvat, which is associated with King Vikramaditya and dates back over 2000 years. The speakers explained that the Bharatiya New Year begins with the month of Chaitra and symbolizes renewal, prosperity, and the start of a new agricultural cycle.
Students were also introduced to the diverse ways in which this New Year is celebrated across India—such as Ugadi, Gudi Padwa, Navreh, and Cheti Chand.
The assembly concluded with the National Anthem and a message encouraging students to celebrate Bharatiya Nav Varsh with awareness and pride in India’s rich cultural heritage.
With pride and gratitude, Royal Global School celebrated the Graduation Day of the Early Years III students. The program began with a welcome address by the Early Years 2 anchors, followed by the graduates’ march and a Shloka recital. Dr. Arup Kumar Mukhopadhyay, Director of the school, addressed parents and highlighted the Cambridge curriculum and the vital role of families in shaping children’s futures.
The children delighted the audience with a play based on “Uncle Ali’s Adventures” and a lively Continent Song, while also sharing how they had grown more confident and social. A special video, “Down the Memory Lane,” captured memorable moments from their Early Years journey.
Parents expressed heartfelt gratitude to the school, teachers, and caretakers. The event also included the Graduation Certificate Distribution and the presentation of the Early Years Annual Report by Ms. Sushmita Chakraborty.
The celebration concluded with the graduation song and the National Anthem.
