The Royal Debating Society (Vox Populi) successfully concluded its Intra-Club Debate Tournament 2026–27 with a riveting final held on 30 May 2026. The motion for the debate was “This House Believes that democracies should ban political parties built around a single individual.”
The Proposition team, comprising Arjun Agarwal, Viraj Upadhyay, and Ayaan Khemka, faced the Opposition team of Diya Sarawgi, Dhruv Bagri, and Mihika Das in a closely contested exchange of ideas, showcasing exceptional research, analytical thinking, and public speaking skills.
The debate was adjudicated by Ms Adya Mishra, Academic Delivery Lead at Pratarka, ASISC National Debate Champion, and an accomplished international adjudicator with experience across more than 180 debating tournaments worldwide.
Following a highly competitive round, the Proposition team emerged victorious. The event was a celebration of critical thinking, respectful discourse, and intellectual engagement, reflecting the core values of Vox Populi and Royal Global School.
Royal Global School proudly conducted its Investiture Ceremony 2026, marking the formal induction of the newly elected Prefect Council. The occasion was graced by the esteemed Chief Guest, Prof. (Dr.) Nandana Dutta, Dean Academics, Professor of English, and i/c Dean of the Royal School of Law and Administration. The event was also honoured by the presence of Dr. A. K. Pansari, Chairman, Royal Global School, and Ms. Sikha Pansari, Executive Director, whose encouragement and guidance continue to inspire the school community.
The ceremony featured the ceremonial march-in of the council members, a graceful Ganesh Vandana, the presentation of the Chairman’s Medal, and the conferring of badges and sashes upon the newly elected student leaders. The highlight of the programme was the Oath-Taking Ceremony, where the School Cabinet pledged to uphold the values of leadership, responsibility, and service.
With inspiring addresses from the dignitaries and student leaders, the event celebrated the spirit of excellence and empowered the young leaders of Royal Global School to lead with integrity, commitment, and vision.
On the occasion of Menstrual Hygiene Day, 28th May 2026, the members of Utsarga Club, under the guidance of Mahua Ma’am, visited Nortap Village, Sonapur, to conduct an awareness programme on menstrual health and hygiene.
Through interactive discussions, informative placards, and simple demonstrations, the team educated women about menstrual hygiene, the proper use and disposal of sanitary pads, and the importance of breaking the stigma surrounding menstruation. The session also highlighted key aspects of women’s health, including menstrual well-being and perimenopause.
The programme fostered meaningful dialogue and encouraged women to speak openly about menstrual health. To support safe and hygienic practices, sanitary pads were distributed among the participants.
A small step towards awareness, dignity, and better health for all women.
A meaningful month of learning and reflection in May
Wellbeing sessions were conducted for students on understanding feelings, managing emotions, and recognising safe and unsafe touch, helping them build emotional awareness and personal safety skills.
Our teachers and staff also participated in sessions on mental wellbeing and unconscious biases, encouraging reflection on how our perspectives can influence our interactions with students and colleagues.
It was encouraging to see students, teachers, and staff engage so thoughtfully in these important conversations as we continue to nurture a safe, inclusive, and supportive school community where everyone feels safe,valued, respected, and understood.
Students of RGS, Class 11 and 12 Commerce Department, went on an educational visit to Amchong Tea Estate,on 20th May,2026
The visit aimed to link Business Studies, Accountancy, Economics, and Entrepreneurship with real industry practices. Children witnessed tea processing in the tea factory from withering to packaging and experienced tea production by observing machines and quality checks.
Students learned key Economics concepts like factors of production, demand-supply, and the industry’s role in employment. From an Entrepreneurship angle, they understood value addition, branding, risk management, and scaling opportunities in agribusiness.
The visit proved highly educational, bridging textbook knowledge with practical application and inspiring interest in business and startups.
The Grade 2 students had an enriching and memorable visit to Daffodil Nursery, Khetri — NE India’s highest-ranked nursery, accredited with three stars by CIH. The young learners were excited to explore a vibrant collection of more than 1000 varieties of plants and experience the beauty of nature up close.
One of the major attractions of the visit was the magnificent 48-year-old Bonsai Ficus plant, which left the children amazed. They also keenly observed mother plants and learned about important plant propagation techniques such as cutting and grafting, sparking curiosity and deepening their understanding of the plant world.
The visit provided a wonderful hands-on learning experience, making the world of plants both engaging and inspiring for our young learners
On 18th May 2026, the Grade 3 students visited Science City, Guwahati for an educational trip filled with fun and learning. The students explored several exciting attractions, including the Giant Wheel, which gave them a bird’s-eye view of the entire campus, and the Black Hole, where they learned about space phenomena in an interactive way.
They also enjoyed the Landscape Zone, observing models of natural formations and ecosystems, and were fascinated by the Parallel Tornado exhibit, which demonstrated the science behind vortexes and air currents. The hands-on displays and live demonstrations made learning engaging and memorable.
The trip successfully combined education with entertainment, sparking curiosity and encouraging students to explore scientific concepts beyond the classroom. Students returned with exciting experiences and new knowledge, making the visit both enjoyable and inspiring.
On 18th May 2026, an interactive session was conducted for grade 1 students on the school campus. The activity was organized to help children learn about different community helpers and their important roles in society. During the session, children interacted with various school support staff and observed their work. They enthusiastically asked questions and completed a response sheet based on their observations and interactions. The activity successfully enhanced the students’ communication skills, confidence, and awareness about the responsibilities of community helpers.
Children actively participated and enjoyed the learning experience. Overall, the session was informative, engaging, and beneficial for all the students.
The RGS Basketball Teams brought laurels to the school by securing the 2nd Runners-up position in the Don Bosco Sonaighuli Inter-School Basketball Championship 2026, held on 16th and 17th May 2026 in the Under-17 category.
Both the Girls’ Team and Boys’ Team showcased excellent teamwork, sportsmanship, and determination throughout the tournament, earning the 2nd Runners-up position in their respective categories.
The championship also brought special recognition to two of our talented players, who were awarded the title of “Best Promising Player of the Championship”

The Visual and Who Am I rounds especially captivated the audience, adding excitement and energy to the event. Students eagerly answered audience questions and actively supported their respective houses, reflecting a vibrant atmosphere of collaboration and healthy rivalry.

The campus of Royal Global School came alive with excitement as Quizzical - the Inter-House Quiz Competition (2026-27) brought together students from Grades 9-12 for an engaging celebration of knowledge, teamwork, and quick thinking.
Each house was represented by a four-member team, with one participant from each grade. The quiz tested general awareness, observation, lateral thinking, and reasoning across history, science, current affairs, language, and the arts.
The event was conducted by Quiz Master Mr. Nabojyoti Gupta, whose thoughtfully curated questions encouraged participants to reason their way to answers through clues and inference. The result was a closely fought, high-scoring contest filled with brilliant responses and memorable moments from both participants and audience alike.

The History Department of Royal Global School organised an educational visit for Classes XI and XII to the specially curated exhibition “Bharat: Contours of Continuity” hosted at The Assam Royal Global University in collaboration with the Indian Museum, Kolkata, on the occasion of International Museum Day and 150 Years of Vande Mataram.
Students explored a remarkable collection of sculptures, paintings, and historical artefacts reflecting India’s rich cultural heritage. Highlights included the bronze sculpture of Nataraja, Ramayana paintings by Shree Krishnalal, and replica artefacts of Buddha, Bodhisattva, Gajalakshmi, and other significant historical symbols.
The visit provided students with an enriching learning experience beyond the classroom and deepened their understanding of Indian history, art, and cultural continuity.
“Play is the highest form of research.” Keeping this spirit alive, our Primary teachers participated in an enriching ThinkTac STEM Training Session on 16th May 2026, conducted by resource person Ms. Kakali Deka.
The session gave teachers a firsthand experience of the exciting activity kits that our students will soon explore in their classrooms. From experimenting with Food Testing and Preservation to learning about health through Measuring Lung Capacity, every activity blended curiosity, creativity, and scientific thinking in a fun, hands on way.
Designed especially for Classes I to V, these curriculum aligned STEM activities encourage children to question, investigate, create, and discover through experiential learning. The workshop beautifully highlighted how learning becomes more meaningful when children are encouraged to think, tinker, and explore.

Today, our Grade IV and V students stepped into a world of wonder at the newly inaugurated Science City, Sonapur.
As our inaugural trip of the year, it was the perfect blend of academic exploration and joyful bonding. Students spent the day navigating the vast, state‑of‑the‑art campus, engaging with interactive exhibits, asking big questions, and creating beautiful memories together with their teachers.
From marvelling at scientific innovations to sharing laughter with friends, every moment was a reminder that learning goes far beyond the classroom walls.

On 9th and 10th May, students from Royal Global School participated in the IIT Guwahati Debate and Public Speaking Boot Camp held at Indian Institute of Technology Guwahati and organised by Taivas Debate Club. The boot camp focused on enhancing students’ public speaking, critical thinking, and communication skills through workshops, discussions, and interactive activities.

Royal Global School solemnly celebrated the 165th birth anniversary of Gurudev Rabindranath Tagore with great enthusiasm and reverence.
The programme commenced with the ceremonial lighting of the lamp, symbolising the triumph of knowledge and enlightenment. A floral garland was then offered to the statue of Rabindranath Tagore as a mark of deep respect and admiration.
An insightful speech was delivered by Saumya Bakshi (Grade 12 Science), who eloquently highlighted the remarkable life, literary genius, and invaluable contributions of Tagore to Indian literature, music, and culture.
Adding cultural elegance to the celebration, the renowned Rabindra Sangeet “Jodi Tor Dak Shune Keu Na Ashe” was melodiously rendered by Mr. Susanta Chowdhury, Dean of Activities, creating a serene and soulful atmosphere. The programme concluded with a captivating recitation by Grace Nora Kharbuli (Grade 12 Humanities) who presented “Where the Mind is Without Fear” with great expression and confidence.
The celebration was conducted gracefully and served as a fitting tribute to the enduring legacy of Rabindranath Tagore, leaving everyone inspired by his timeless message of knowledge, freedom, and humanity.

The event was judged by Ms. Caroline L. Hauzel, Head of Wellness, and Ms. Sehanara Rahman, HOD of English (Primary School). The participants impressed the audience and judges alike with their confident delivery, expressive articulation, and well-prepared content. The competition reflected active participation and a healthy spirit of house rivalry.

The Inter-House Declamation Competition – Vyakhyaan at Royal Global School was conducted with great enthusiasm, offering students of Grades 9 to 12 a vibrant platform to showcase their oratory skills, confidence, and depth of thought. Participants impressed the audience by portraying renowned personalities such as Neera Arya, Atal Bihari Vajpayee, Charlie Chaplin, Hillary Clinton, Napoleon Bonaparte, Bhagat Singh, Michelle Obama, Priyanka Chopra, and Susan Sarandon, with each performance reflecting strong preparation and expressive delivery.
The event was judged by Vice Principal Ms. Binita Jain and our esteemed educator Ms. Ajanita Hazarika, both of whose expertise added great value to the competition. All four houses—Vivekananda, Gandhi, Tagore, and Mother Teresa—participated with enthusiasm, showcasing remarkable confidence and creativity.

On the occassion of celebrating mothers, Royal Global School hosted a delightful cooking workshop on 2nd May' 2026 at the Amaltas Dining hall. The session was led by acclaimed chef Aabhishek Bedi Varma, who guided mothers of Grade 1 and 2 through simple yet creative culinary creations.
The morning was filled with love, laughter, and engaging learning as participants explored new recipes and techniques in a warm interactive setting. Dressed in elegant white, the mothers added to the charm of the celebration, making the event truly special.
